Employment Schemes/Initiatives

On Wednesday, 9th October 2013 The Chamber in conjunction with the FSB held an afternoon seminar on Employment Schemes. Talking at that meeting were representatives from Job Centre Plus, Skills Development Scotland, Scottish Chamber of Commerce, Barnardos (for SBC) and the Construction Industry Training Board.

It was agreed that details of all of the schemes mentioned should be added to this web site for all members to access.

SCOTTISH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
GRADUATE RECRUITMENT INCENTIVE

Are you looking to grow your business and create new opportunities?  Scottish Border Chamber of Commerce are delivering the Graduate Recruitment Incentive Programme in partnership with Scottish Chambers of Commerce. This initiative supports small/medium sized businesses to recruit and develop a permanent graduate position; upskilling your business, providing quality graduate opportunities and investing in longer term growth.

The initiative offers flexible criteria, invaluable recruitment support and a financial incentive:

Criteria

  1. Available to SMEs up to 50 employees
  2. Graduates up to the age of 30
  3. Graduate does not have to be unemployed or underemployed
  4. Graduate does not have to be domiciled in the local authority area
  5. Creation of a permanent position with a minimum starting salary of £14,000

Programme incentives

  1. At least four hours of Pre and post recruitment support including support with job description, interviews and induction process
  2. A £1500 incentive payment paid in 3 instalments
