Local Export Partnership, Project Director Role – £60,000 Pro Rata – 1 Day Per Week

The LEP Project Director is responsible for total design and delivery of the pilot LEP programme across both the Dumfries and Galloway and Scottish Borders regions. The post is a demanding, externally facing role requiring a great deal of tact, diplomacy and inclusivity.

The post holder will be expected to develop and coordinate a LEP pilot programme of work bringing demonstrable vision, coordination and planning needed to deliver a stronger export orientated focus among businesses in the South of Scotland, particularly small and medium size businesses.

The Project Director must have an understanding of economic regeneration, a willingness to promote the South of Scotland on the international stage, be able to boost trade and investment as well as influence and build networks.

The Director must be able to understand and incorporate the wider national aims and ambitions of Innovation, Investment, Inclusivity and Internationalisation in the South of Scotland programme.

The Project Director has an excellent opportunity to deliver innovative and potentially high profile project activities within the business community and work in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders in the South of Scotland.

The Project Director will be responsible for all aspects of the programme including the ongoing development of strategic plans and delivery on the ground. This role will also include management of two part-time Programme Managers.

Export Coordinator Role, Part Time – £30,000 Pro Rata – 2 Day Per Week (2 positions, one for Dumfries and Galloway and one for Scottish Borders)

The two day a week Export Coordinators will be responsible for the engagement with both existing exporters in the region and targeted businesses that are new to internationalisation.

Applicants need to have a sound understanding of the local geography and the business presence. They will also work with the Project Director to identify the key trigger factors that would make businesses look at exporting seriously in addition to conducting face to face meeting with existing and prospective exporters. The post is a demanding, externally facing role requiring a great deal of tact, diplomacy and inclusivity. An understanding of economic regeneration in the area is desirable.

A knowledge of Joomla, social media platforms and use of Office 365 is preferred.
